Just a few days after Perodua gave us our first look at the new Perodua Alza, a leaked brochure of the refreshed seven-seat MPV has now surfaced on the internet. This set of images come courtesy of paultan.org reader Farhan Pramadipta, where we now have a lot more information about the impending facelift.

As with the soon-to-be outgoing model, three variants of the Alza will be offered – S (Standard), SE and AV (Advanced). All of them are powered by the familiar 1.5 litre four-cylinder DVVT petrol engine (3SZ-VE) with 102 hp and 136 Nm of torque. What’s different is only the S can be had with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The SE, which gets the same options previously, can only be specified with a slushbox, as is the case with the AV.

The SE and AV are the only variants that come with a new look, as we’ve seen in Perodua’s Merdeka greeting. Up front, the new bumper features a wider lower intake that leads to blacked-out sections where the repositioned fog lamps reside. Halogen projector headlamps continue to be present, with no change in the shape of the clusters, but there are now front sensors to aid you when parking.

Meanwhile, the grille has been restyled, now with two slats running through the Perodua badge and a thin black strip placed above it. At the back, a sportier rear bumper includes thinner fins for the faux diffuser, and the rear reflectors are more horizontally-inclined. The tailgate garnish adopts a new design too, with a prominent chrome piece at the bottom of it.

Also part of the exterior updates are two-tone side skirts that have black accents on them, while the 15-inch wheels come in a titanium finish – S variant retains the silver finish. On that mention, Granite Grey is a new addition to the Alza’s pallete, joining Electric Blue, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White.

Moving inside, all variants receive a slight update to the dashboard, which comes with a new finish and centre air-con vents. The gauges in the instrument cluster are also of a new design, and Perodua touts enhanced cooling for passengers in the third row.

For the AV, there’s a new head unit with navigation and smartphone screen mirroring, along with a roof-mounted monitor, whille other variants adopt a basic unit with USB and Bluetooth inputs. Also found in the AV is a new leather seat design, with the remaining options receiving a darker fabric seat colour.

On the safety side of things, you still get two airbags at the front, ABS with EBD and brake assist, Isofix child seat anchors in the second row and reverse sensors. The aforementioned front sensors are only found on the SE and AV, with a reverse camera being exclusive to the latter of the two.

Still no VSC. Good job Perodua

Last time Perodua already told Alza cannot fit with VSC, so this round facelift is only to clear old stock

P1 Exora spec & tech more reliable since 2009.

what a joke…a good set of safety features are subsided by superficial upgrade. I hope Malaysians are more conscious to consider others worthiness cars.

I will buy one. Tak payah fikir pening kepala. Beli saja perodua alza. Gerenti puas hati.

Tak pikir dulu jadi pening nanti bila Life Value sudah tarak. Belilah Exora atau Boyue. Sayangi Life Value lebih dari Regret Value

it’s 2018 (almost 2019) and there’s still a car manufacturer that advertises Seat Height Adjuster as a feature wtf

2 airbags, No VSC, no turbo engine and old school 4 speed automatic…. it’s repackaging only, it’s boring and useless.

Seems like Perodua is following Toyota Malaysia footstep for their MPV…keep on cosmetic “enhancement” only

sendiri tunjuk cakap leak, macam ini pun boleh

I was actually suprised to see this on the shelf at P2 sentral in PJ, anyways the granite grey is exclusive to the SE and AV variants while the blue is now for all variants.

No VSC, 2 airbags and 4-speed automatic??? useless. Gov should step in standardize minimum safety requirements.

you’ve just described most P2 and Vios out there he he he xp

They probably want to clear all those leftover stock. It is still, a good option for those who wants to cheap out, but mind you, if you are able to pay more monthly, it is best to go for a newer MPVs like those BR-V, or Sienta. Exora, Alza, and Grand Livina is already considered as old model, so choosing a newer model would be a better idea.

Among the older MPVs, Exora is still safest, even safer than BRV. Choose Exora if prefer Life Value.

Yep Exora is by far one of the safest ‘old’ model budget MPV on the market right now. Depends on individual preferences whether to buy it or not.

Haha. Your supposedly newer MPVs like the BRV and Sienta also only have 2 airbags.

Newer models have better updates and are guaranteed to have longer support. They also featured new design on the body structure integrity and comparing a dual airbags full spec Sienta and BR-V versus the dual airbags full spec Alza, you’d know the latter one is no near with the newer competitors. Don’t bring up saying “Alza lebih murah bla bla” my first post were meant for those who don’t have problems paying extra for more features.

P2 kalau facelift tukar bumper saja baik takyah ada R&D la.

Kasi tuneD buat saja la. TuneD pon tau tukar bumper saja maaa

Guessing from looking at past Perodua models, it isn’t profitable to have low volume models have a distinct look so I’m guessing that the ‘S’ variant is going to take up at least 50% of the sales.

All New Myvi come with VSC and this family junk without the VSC. What a joke!

Congrats UMW transform Perodua become Toyota…..by doing x times of facelift for old junk and offer milo tin car with kosong safety package. They can share same slogan:

Toyota moving backward! Perodua moving backward!

Toyota moving backwards! P2 gostan balik!

still using old design steering wheel? wow

what a rubbish car, never border improve but yet top sales. Pity Malaysians.

Which border? Msia-Thai or Msia-Spore? hehe

Haha.. border or bother? Haha

All talk only, proton the best la. Even always breakdown not reliable give you the campro super old engine lousy CVT better la. Go drive your proton la. LoL
